Deduplicating VTL Appliance
The REO® 9500D helps end users dramatically reduce their overall backup and restore costs by allowing greater retention of backup data on disk. Taking advantage of highly- efficient ProtecTIER data deduplication from Diligent ™Technologies, the REO 9500D will allow end-users to typically retain 25x more backup data on their VTL before moving the data to tape.
The REO 9500D can be configured as multiple Virtual Tape Libraries, allowing fast and efficient backup to disk. Virtual library configurations can be easily modified as required.
The patented Hyperfactor process used in the REO 9500D is highly efficient, allowing all of the index data to be stored in RAM for fast access. This assures that high performance is maintained as the amount of stored data grows. This approach also allows for a byte by byte comparison of data, to assure absolute data integrity.
As a Virtual Tape Library (VTL) appliance, the REO 9500D arrives ready to integrate into your current backup infrastructure with no hassles. There is no software to install or setup, just configure your ideal VTL set-up with the easy to use configuration wizard. The REO is compatible with all major backup software packages, and requires no modifications to hosts or backup servers.

| Warranty/Service | REO 9500D products are covered by a three-year hardware limited warranty. This warranty is administered worldwide through Field Replaceable Spare XchangeNOW? At the time of purchase end-users in most areas can purchase up to three years of on-site maintenance coverage to enhance availability or extend services already provided during the warranty period. REO 9500D products do not include software support and maintenance as part of the standard warranty. Support and maintenance on the REO 9500D software is available in one year increments and is included in all on-site support upgrades.
The REO 9500D products require a pre-installation site survey and professional installation by Overland or a qualified installation vendor. Customers within our 150 mile (240km) service area are eligible to purchase Bronze level of support. Professional Service offerings are available upon request. |
