Eric Kelly has served as the Sphere 3D Corp. Chairman since July 2013 and Chief Executive Officer since the company’s merger with Overland Storage in December 2014. Mr. Kelly served as Overland Storage's CEO since January 2009, its President & CEO since January 2010 and as a Board member since November 2007. Prior to joining Overland, Mr. Kelly was President of Silicon Valley Management Partners Inc., a management consulting and M&A advisory firm which he co-founded in 2007. He is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. His earlier positions have included Vice President and General Manager of Storage Systems Solutions at Adaptec Inc., President and CEO of Snap Appliance which was acquired by Adaptec, President of the Systems Division at Maxtor Corp. as well as various executive-level roles with Dell Computer Corp., Diamond Multimedia, Conner Peripherals and IBM. Mr. Kelly currently serves on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Manufacturing Council, where he offers advice and counsel to the Obama administration on strategies and policy recommendations on ways to promote and advance U.S. manufacturing. He earned an MBA from San Francisco State University and a B.S. in Business from San Jose State University.
Vice Chairman and President
Peter Tassiopoulos was CEO of Sphere 3D from March of 2013 to December 2014. Having moved to the Role of Vice Chairman and President, he continues a well-established career in business development, sales management, and finance. Over the last 20 years Mr. Tassiopoulos has served as the founder or co-founder, director and/or as a senior executive of multiple companies covering a diverse array of industries. He has been a speaker and served on various panels at the United Nations, including "Age of Connectivity: Cities, Magnets of Hope…Imagining the Possible", Mobile Health Management and, Digital Health. Mr. Tassiopoulos is responsible for the execution of the Company’s business plan and providing strategic leadership and direction.
Kurt L. Kalbfleisch
Chief Financial Officer
Kurt Kalbfleisch joined Sphere 3D as Chief Financial Officer in December 2014. Prior to that, Kurt was with Overland Storage from December 1993 until November 2014 and served as Overland’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Kurt is responsible for the company’s finance, accounting, legal, and facilities operations. During his tenure at Overland, Kurt has also served in several key management roles in cost accounting and finance. Prior to joining Overland, Kurt was a manufacturing budget analyst for McDonnell Douglas Corp. Kurt earned his MBA from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in Business from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
Chief Operating Officer
Randy Gast joined Sphere 3D as Chief Operating Officer in December 2014. Prior to that, Randy was with Overland Storage and served as Overland’s Chief Operating Officer. In addition to having responsibility for the company’s worldwide manufacturing, logistics, supply chain and IT operations, he also leads Sphere 3D’s global customer support and professional services organization. Prior to joining Overland, Randy held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Supply Chain and Logistics at Hewlett-Packard where he was responsible for a $2 billion operation. Previous tenures also include Vice President of Global Operations and Facility Security Officer (FSO) at 3Par, Global Vice President of Operations at Adaptec Inc., Vice President of Worldwide Operations & Customer Support at Snap Appliance as well as Vice President of Operations at Maxtor Corporation. Randy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Arizona State University.
