The road to Overland scale-out selling is definitely traveled on

So what happens next?

Four simple but very promising words. We had just wrapped up the presentation at the Chicago roadshow event and as I was going through my meet and greets, this is what one of the partner attendees asked me. It made me get a bit retrospective on the whole concept of the roadshow.

Overland is primed for channel business – we’ve got this best-of-breed portfolio that is being championed by the new SnapScale X2 clustered NAS. We mentioned this little factoid in our roadshow presentations but when you stop and think about the numbers – who doesn’t want a piece of a projected $18B scale-out pie? I love being part of a solution that can actually deliver business to our partners and encompass what customers clearly need: performance, enterprise features, scalability, easy and intuitive management. Better yet, I love being part of an opportunity to evangelize this new product to the channel, face-to-face. Plus, coupling that with our commitment to 100% channel 100% of the time – that’s the stuff that selling success is made out of.

That said, here’s a couple of quick facts about the roadshow that make me look back and say, “this was a success”:

  • Net-new partner company attendance averaged at more than 25% for each location
  • We doubled (and in some cases tripled) the forecasted attendance level for EVERY event
  • More than 70% of each event’s audience left as a registered FastTrack partner

Those are the types of numbers that mean business. That’s what drives opportunity. The enthusiasm that I saw from the participating partners around our technology, the value, the business opportunity to drive profit and organizational support we have in place to make them successful—means the SnapScale X2 has hit the scale-out mark. We’ve really been able to give the channel the technology their customers want.

So what does happen next? I’m excited to find out.
